Bequests

Including a legacy to WSPA in your will means continuing the great work that you have supported during your lifetime.

It is always advisable to instruct a solicitor to make sure that your Will is properly drawn up, valid, enforceable and that your wishes will be carried out exactly as you intended.

If you already have a Will, you can still leave a gift to WSPA by adding a codicil to it.

In this way you can leave a legacy to WSPA while ensuring that the other provisions in your Will remain untouched, and you won’t have to pay for your Will to be completely re-written.

Types of gift

If you decide to include WSPA in your Will you will need to decide which of the following types of gift you wish to make:

  • Residual gift. We are very grateful for all the legacies we receive, however the most valuable kind of gift to WSPA is the gift of all or a percentage of the net value of your estate (ie. after all debts, liabilities and other specific and pecuniary legacies have been paid). A residual gift ensures that your gift to WSPA is 'inflation proof' as you do not need to put a precise value on your gift.

  • Pecuniary gift. The gift of a specified sum of money.

  • Specific gift. The gift of a specific item, for example, a property or shares.
