Supporters raise over $12,500 for WSPA in City2Surf

More than 70 WSPA supporters have run in this year’s City2Surf to raise essential funds for animals around the world.

Bondi Rescue lifeguard Chris “Chappo” Chapman was one of them, completing the run in an impressive time of 66 minutes and raising close to $2,000. Chris and four of his friends all completed the race in just over an hour, only 25 minutes behind the men’s winner.

“The race went really well and we had a good run, I really loved it and I’ll definitely do it again for WSPA next year,” Chris said.

A special WSPA staff team, including WSPA’s Fundraising Coordinator Anne Keyvar, also took part, raising another $2,000 for the animals.

Anne said: ‘Thank you so much to everyone who ran, walked or staggered for WSPA! We had an incredible turnout this year.  Our 70 animal heroes have raised over $12,500 to help animals around the world, which is a phenomenal result.”

All funds raised will go to towards WSPA’s vision to create a world where animal welfare matters and animal cruelty ends.
