Bondi Rescue Boys Ready to Run for Animals

Jul 5, 2012

For years, the Bondi Rescue boys have saved people from danger, now they’ve chosen a new cause…saving animals!

Several of the stars of Channel 10’s Bondi Rescue will this year be running the City2Surf and raising money for animals around the world. The money raised will be going to the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) to help animals in need around the world.

Andrew ‘Reidy’ Reid, Corey Oliver, Christopher ‘Chappo’ Chapman, Nicholas Chapman and Ryan Clark will be taking the 14km challenge in order to make the lives of animals better around the globe.

The race will be run on Sunday 12 August, finishing at Bondi Beach.

WSPA Ambassador Andrew ‘Reidy’ Reid is striving to finish within the top 50 runners and is well aware of the global good that his herculean effort will achieve:

“As Bondi's lifeguards and lifesavers, we rescue around 2500 people per year and we’re proud of the work that we do. However, we’re also aware of the literally millions of animals around the world who also need help. That’s why we’ve decided to help WSPA to make a real difference; so that animals, who do not have a voice, are given the help that they need and deserve”.

The Bondi Rescue Boys are appealing for as many people either to join them in running the race, or financially supporting them.
