Where: Martin Place, Sydney.
When: 7am (for 7.30 start), Tuesday 24 July 2012.
Get involved: WSPA has teamed up with The Body Shop to smash a Guinness World Record and let the Australian Government know that the issue of live export of animals has not gone away.

Stand Up for Animals

Everyone is invited to come and join us to ‘stand up for animals’ and hopefully break the world record for the most arm-linked people to stand up simultaneously. The previous record was set in Mumbai, India, in 2011.

The world record attempt event is to celebrate the launch of WSPA and The Body Shop’s in-store initiative; Stand up for animals. It is part of WSPA’s Humane Chain campaign, which calls on government to phase out the live export of sheep and cattle.

The event will be a media-friendly celebration of Australians’ passion for animals and animal welfare.

The in-store ‘Stand up for animals’ campaign will run for three weeks from 30 July – 19 August and people will be encouraged to sign one of the chain of little orange people which will represent them at local and national parliamentary levels.
